A Strong Player

Starting out as six separate companies, Player One is now going from strength to strength as a seller, distributor and operator of new and used amusement equipment.

“Although the brand Player One Amusement Group launched in November 2016, the company had been in the making for decades,” said Joe McCullagh, general manager. “Starting with Brady Distribution in 1944, the organization has since gone through a series of mergers and acquisitions, building upon its expertise and infrastructure to land it today as one of North America’s leading amusement and entertainment solution providers.”

P1AG’s key product offering includes interactive video, redemption, amusement gaming and vending equipment, and the company specializes in solution servicing and design for a wide range of customers in the theatrical exhibition vertical as well as community-based entertainment destinations such as bowling centers, restaurants, arcades, shopping centers and water parks. To get to the point it is at today, the company had to show determination and a will to succeed. McCullagh explained that the company developed out of an overall desire to provide a high quality of entertainment to customers in a wide variety of sectors.

“A passion for delivering exceptional games, amusement and entertainment solutions for both our customers and consumers led to the founding of the firm,” he said.

The aforementioned fact that the company’s origins lie in several others was a great asset to Player One’s development, said McCullagh. The company’s origins can be traced back to 1944, when Brady Distributing was established. Over the following decades, Cineplex Starburst, Premier Amusements, Tricorp Amusements and Sega Amusement Works were also founded. The six companies combined in 2016 to create Player One; this prestigious history has allowed McCullagh, alongside vice president John Kolliniatis, to overcome many hurdles that could have tripped the company up otherwise.

“The coming together of the former companies to create Player One Amusement Group brought the ability for us to provide our customers with customized Total Solutions no matter their business size, scale or amusement need,” he said. “From attractive financing offers and revenue share programs to game room design, layout and merchandise strategies, we work collaboratively with our customers to find the best solution for them. We are able to service accounts anywhere across North America. We also have international experience.”

Player One prides itself on its values and Kristen Sheridan, director of marketing at P1AG, explained that customers are valued highly and are seen as a key factor in its continued success.

“If you’re ever at one of our offices, it’s likely you’ll encounter, whether it be written on our wall or spoken by an employee, the term ‘win as one,’” said Sheridan. “This ‘win with’ concept is really at the root of our brand. Our customers are player one to us, and we are only as successful as they are. It takes a great team of employees winning together to provide the exceptional services we do to our valued customers.”

Looking towards the next few years, the company’s ambition will surely hold it in good stead as it looks to solidify its status in the industry.
